Woodland Picnic
Class Options: 1 Day Class - students will learn to make as many of these animals as possible in 8 hours. The cost for this class is $100.00 plus $15.00 for supplies. Maximum 12 students
I will supply all the gum paste and have it ready and pre colored. I will also supply all those pieces of the animals that need to be made ahead of time so they can dry. Students will make their own in class for use at a later time.
Students will bring: modelling tools, rolling pin, rolling surface-either a plain vinyl placemat (without printing) or a purchased surface, waterbrush or small paint brush and cup for water, X-Acto knife, needle tool or sharp hat pin, 1 Cup cornstarch in a brand new never before worn nylo sock, small amount of crisco in a container with a lid, wire cutters, needle nosed pliers, tweezers, orange stick (just a pointed wooden stick), several pieces of white cloth-covered wire (22 ga.), several pieces of green cloth-covered wire (20 or 22 ga.), toothpick, 8 bamboo skewers, PME cutting wheel or other cutting wheel, black paste food color, small amount of vodka or lemon extract, small paintbrushes, 5 - 1 1/2" styrofoam balls, 2 cell formers or other small round bottomed containers through which a hole can be made, a medium sized sheet of styrofoam on which to dry and transport animals. It may also prove helpful to bring a padded box into owhich the styro fits very well - this may help to keep things from smacking your animals during the drive home, 2 double ended black stamens, 1 double ended white stamen.
Class Option 2:
Students will learn to make the entire piece seen in the picture. You may not be able to complete every detail in class depending on how quickly you work, but full detailed instructions are given for every aspect of this project and putting the finishing touches on at a later date is quite simple. This class will be 16 hours (2-8 hour days). The cost is $200.00 plus $35.00 for supplies. Maximum 12 students.
I will have all the gum paste and fondant pre colored and ready for your use. I will also supply the confectioner`s glaze and thinner. Again I will supply the parts of the animals which will need to dry before use. Students will need to bring all the supplies for the one day class as well as:
tiny 5-petaled flower cutter, additional double ended black stamens, additional white and green wire pieces, 1- 12" particle board round, 1 -4" wide X 4" high styrofoam cake dummy, you will need a box to transport your finished piece, fondant smoothers if desired, brown powdered food coloring and a small, empty airtight container in which to mix the paint for the stump, additional vodka or lemon extract (roughly 1/4 cup give or take), horrible old 1/4" flat paint brush for use with confectioner`s glaze - don`t plan on using it again, yellow powdered food coloring, red powdered food coloring.
Class Option 3: Choose 3: Choose any three of the animals from this project to complete in class. This class will last 4 hours. The cost is $50.00 plus $10.00 for supplies. All students in class will be working on the same three animals.
